I hate people like this... [RANT Warning

Check this auction.. its for a nice Washburn N4 Vintage.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/washburn-n4_W0QQ...em150270045508

This is a quote from the auctioneer:

"I have played this three times under five minutes each because I just love the guitar too much"

This type of thinking, annoys me so much..

If they really loved their guitar wouldn't they play the fucking hell out of it always?!

hes obviously a beginner and would even love a squire strat. a real guitarist would know that 5 minutes is like not playing at all.

Not playing your favorite guitar makes no sense.. they are MORE THAN ART. They are WORKING pieces of art...

yeah...that guitar is brand new to me, 3 time for 5 minutes...an ibanez artcore gets more playing time at guitar center than that washburn has seen.

I have 21 guitars, and I don't play any of them.

see above post... I think I explained my perspective well enough.

ANd ya,, 15 minutes of playtime aint shit.. I've played my RG3120 nearly everyday since I bought it unless the strings were broke,, and even then-Floyd or not I played it. I ♥ this guitar.

On another note.. I typically keep it in E standard with 9s.. and once strung it with 10s cuz that was all I had in stock at my house. It made my bridge lift up quite a bit. Anyways,, I didn't feel like resetting the bridge cuz I'd have to mess with spring tension, so I just detuned it until it was level again.. ended up being almost perfect level and 1/2 step down in Eb. That Tone Zone in the bridge sounds GREAT like that.. I may do it again soon, if I didn't already have guitars tuned to Eb, that is..

I only need to play one guitar. And I have a backup in case that gets broken during a gig. I'm comfortable with that guitar and it plays exactly the way I want it to every time. It's a good guitar but if it gets beat up I don't care.

The rest are guitars I like but don't need to play and I don't want getting beat up. Why would I need to play any other guitar than my main one anyway?

Saying things like "the rest" implies that you have more than your main axe & its respective backup. Not that I care exactly how many axes you have, but what exactly are you implying?

My personal stance is that if you have a guitar that you really like and you paid plenty for(price isn't really a factor here, but you get my drift as a high price usually implies higher quality than stock), and it sounds & plays above and beyond better than all the other axes you own,, it should become your main axe & therefore you should play it. The way something looks does not indicate the way it sounds.. a beat to shit les paul custom sounds better than most any shiny glossy guitar that has sat in its case for its entire life. Guitars are meant to be played.. not put on the wall to stare at and admire. If that's all you're going to do, sell the amp/fx/etc, & get some real art.

Like say you have a favorite suit or pair of shoes, something like that. You should wear that suit or pair of shoes every day, simply because it makes you feel better.. the shoes are more comfortable, the suit makes you look stellar.. why wear anything else? Occasion permitting of course.. wouldn't be right wearing a suit to the beach, of course.. But why wait until tomorrow to play what is best when you have it at your fingertips, eh? So likewise, why look like shit when you can wear that sweet Armani tux?

OP: it's kind of retarded, seeing as the guitar is already relic'd.

Hell, half guitar collectors don't even fucking play guitar at all. They buy something, say a classic Gibson '58 Flying V,, look at it as an investment ONLY, and then a choice piece of rock-n-roll making machinery sits on a fucking wall or in some glass case and gets stared at all day... I seriously despise those people. I guess that is what I am rambling about? That guitar-ALL guitars are built to be played. Not fracking stared at and put on some pedestal.

i agree, collectors are fucking idiots, they pay 5k+ for guitars and they don't know a thing about music other than they lilke listening to it on the radio.

its quite sad, thing is guitars deteriorate when they are in displace cases not being used, look at vintage guitars pre 1950 that are still played today vs a guitar that has been in a display case in a hard rock cafe since 1985, the 80's one looks like its worn and beat to shit, like the wood is decomposing and the hardware is tarnishing and you know the guitar wasn't beat to shit becuase they will have a picture of it right before it was put in the case and it looks brand new.

moral of the story...PLAY THE FUCKING GUITAR!
