National gig-spam (painful content)
Genitorturers w/ Sex Slaves and Prime Mover
11/25 @ the Masquerade I'm psyched about this one! I don't know how much of their fanbase will dig what we do, but they always draw a crowd and always put on a killer show. ![]() |

Somehow, I think it's going to be a fun and memorable gig. Have a great time!

Yep. David "Evil D" Vincent on the bass. He and Gen, the singer, are married...but I'm pretty sure they're both allowed to torture whoever they want. |

Persistence.
There are 3 clubs in Atlanta that have National shows and will actually put local support on the bill, but the main one is the Masquerade. They actually like putting locals on the bill because they know the local bands will promote the show, sell tickets, etc. basically when I hear about bands coming to Atlanta I hit up the talent buyer and ask if they need an opener. 11 times out of 10 the answer is no. ...but sometimes it is yes. They give us 100 tickets to sell. We get 2 to 3 bucks off of each ticket that we sell. The more tickets we sell, the more likely we'll get more/better shows in the future. I wouldn't send you driving for one of our shows normally but this will be a kickass show. We're doing a new record as soon as we can scrape up the $ and get our collective shit together. We were going to record a few tracks at Eyal's place and shop those around while we saved up the cash to record the rest, but that was derailed for a number of reasons so we're regrouping. We've got the tracks though. At least that part of the equation is ready. haha |

I was wondering if you had to sell tickets. Is it required or just something they ask you to try and do? You guys are a little more established by now, no? Around here, ANYONE can score the national gig if they sell the tickets. It's terrible dude. They put 13 bands on the bill and make them all sell tickets. It doesn't make for very good shows. |

We've done some of those 13 band MetalFiascos. A few have turned out really well for us, but usually they're crap so we don't generally bother with those any more. We also get a request every other week to take part in a "Battle of the Bands" but after doing a couple of those we decided that we prefer a cooperative stance on the scene to a competitive one. |

There have been times when the Atlanta scene was like this, and times when it wasn't. I think it's getting back towards that now, but there are still a few pieces missing. Atlanta can be very disjointed. A lot of times it feels like there isn't one music scene here, there's like ten.
But we try to be team players. I think a rising tide lifts all boats. At the same time we try to set ourselves apart musically as we really don't want to be just another band doing the same thing as everybody else. |
