That should still be a 2007 model judging from the serial number. I believe the first two digits are the year it was made, 07=2007. Here's A better shot of the serial number thing on my white MX that I custom ordered from Japan over the summer. Just got it a few weeks ago. Great guitar.

But why it doesn't have "esp custom shop" or "standard series" on the back of headstock like other esp's? I don't mean that it is fake, but for me esp without this sticker is... strange :).

The majority of ESP guitars intended only for the Japanese market, do not have the "Custom Shop" logo, only a custom shop serial number.

I've never seen an MX with a Custom shop logo on the back. Since it's a "domestic market" guitar they just have the ESP Custom logo on the front of the headstock. The K in front of the serial number indicates it was made in the K-Shop which is one of ESP's Custom Shops.

the answer is very, very, verrrry easy: save up your money and buy it in both colours. if it is too expensive...i would get the white one. :hat

They are a bunch of silly eggs over there. I ordered a UC Hanny with the Eagle inlays from Japan years back before they came over here and you can get em, and that one had the CS logo on back of the headstock. I asked if they would do it on my 2 new ones, especially since they are using different woods for the neck and board, but said no no. :( There claim to fame...if you can dream it, we can build it....oh but we can't do the 1 screw bell shaped truss rod cover...sorry :( So I am having duplicates of the one I have made for them :)

And sean, I've seen your's videos on youtube, and I'm impressed of your's guitars. How many guitars do you have? 15, 16? :) And Diezel is cool too. I've only played einstein combo when I was in Germany last year, but even it was great.

nah the most at one time was 11 or 12. Now it is down to 7, plus 2 more of the custom explorers :)

But I've seen also that you have engl powerball. Can you tell something about it? I have opportunity to buy engl savege 120, but engl is engl. Anyway, I play metal and i want to know if engl is better/worst than mesa (I played mesa a few times and I think it is crap) or diezel.
I'm sad, because in Poland I can't see that amps in local shops (for example, we don't have official esp dealer, only ltd :/) and I can't compare.

Heh, that's true :). But I'm happy that I don't live in REAL soviet Poland. Happily comunism times quite ended about 15 years ago (did I write it correctly? Sorry for my English, I'm still learning).
Anyway, there are shops where you can see good amps, but little and far (I don't have car [hey, I'm too young! :) ] and for me this dumb 20 kilometers IS far). But even it this shops I must wait for long time if I want play on some amps. I called 3 months ago to one shop and I asked when they will have Krankenstein, and I'm still waiting.

Yeah I play em all. I have them tuned all over the place. Also broken into 2 sides, 1 that I play out and beat up, and 2 the ones that stay home. :)

I sold the PB and got the ENGL SE EL 34 version. IMO I think foreign amps in general better to my ears, than what I can go to GC and Sam Ass and buy. ;) I had a bunch of Mesa heads, but felt the cleans sucked as I use cleans a lot, and the dirties were nice, but a little noisy. The Diezel VH4S is still my fav, but the ENGl gives it a run for its money for sure. They are both different animals.

It was my first time with engl amps, but guy, who is owner of this amp, has specific settings on eq, and for me this sound was... odd. Like tear a piece of paper or fart :). Anyway, in music store Koln I've played engl invader + esp mII UC and it was gorgeous experience.

Here is the link to savage that I told before. 5999 PLN is about 2150 USD. It's 3 months old amp with z10 footswich. Is it good price?

I dunno what the going rate is for that and also how that one sounds. But I think it the hierarchy, it is superior to the Powerball. I think:confused:

I heard that powerball is only for metal without compromises. However, there won't be all this stories with new amp, if I give my amp more gain.
I have marshall jcm 800 and yes, it has nice sound, but not for metal. Second thing is that this amp with my guitar has much high and middle tones :/. I search booster to it. I've heard that boss sd-1 is good (or mxr zw-44, it seems that is the same effect in other box) and there was a lot of nice opinions about ibanez tube screamer. Unfortunatly, I don't have opportunity to check it out :(.

99 was the last year for the Explorer shape. They never really made a true MX for the US, only the EXP's which were bolt ons. An MX style Explorer was A pretty easy custom order though.
