Quality wise are one of these better or are they the same?
Look, if I understand your question, strictly speaking, sigs are going to be better than LTDs 1000s, but you have to remember that there are sig series ESPs and usually there is also a sig LTD version (of the higher grade sig ESP).
If you are talking about the sig LTD series versus the LTD 1000s - it's 6-to-5 and pick 'em. In other words, play them both and see what feels more comfortable to you. Pricing is going to be very comparable and I believe that all LTDs (sig or 1000) are made outside of the superior factories in Japan which have superior materials and production methods (LTDs - in Korea and maybe one other place with lesser, but still good quality processes). Play them and decide for yourself what you feel is the better piece of wood for you and enjoy the process of comparing.

I have a Jh-600 and a LTD Truckster and they do seem to be built better then the 1000's that I've played.

i have only played one sig which was an alexi-600 and i found the 1000s that ive played to be better. it seems they jack the price up because they slap sombodys name on it. good guitars, but if i were you id grab a 1000 series. besides, youll look more original.

I feel the quality is about the same. The only difference being finish options and signature looks and features. This may sound stupid, but notice how alot of the signature LTD series end with 600? Usuaslly with the LTD series, the higher the number, the better the quality.

I don't know what to think really. I've played a JH600 and it played and felt a wee bit better then a M1000. The Hanneman also played as well as the MH400 so go fig.
Maybe I played a bad M1000. The neck on it felt a little weird... like an Ibanez Wizard.
Now the KH602 played better then all three. I won't mention the KH2 though.

like an Ibanez Wizard.
Good, thats how it should be.
I kinda like the Alexi but its way overpriced, I dont have an ESP dealer anywhere within a two hour drive. I think Im making my own guitar any ways, planning on staring a small custom shop.

Ibanez Wizard neck is lame, but probably one of the better Ibanez necks out there...

Yea the Hanneman 600 played just about the same as a MH400.
I don't know if the M series necks are different then the MH necks... but the MH just played a wee bit better then a M1000. I'm just hoping that maybe since it was a floor model it needed a better set up... but god damn the neck on it felt exactly like an Ibanez. Around the 9th fret area it felt like the bottom of a soup bowel. I cannot stand it.

From what I've played to compare (mostly KH sigs, and EC and MH 1000's) I'd say that they're pretty similar really, I didn't notice any huge diffrence.

that helps because i was going to look into buying an m-1000, but i hate ibanez necks. i think im going to get an mh-400 because the see thru black with white binding is to die for. is this a good choice?
if you can (i know its impossible to do because its rare to come across an esp) could you compare it to a viper 400 or viper 1000?(neck and playability wise)
