we need a transparent black M-400 with a flame more than anything, and more options in the colors just in general. original floyds on the 400 series, and no black nickel. they should come out with more pointy guitars too and make the alexi body shape available in an original series. cammo options in some guitars would be cool. like sombody already mentioned an urban cammo m-400 would kick ass id buy one in a heart beat. the abalone should be replaced with a 3-ply binding. personally i think the standard ESPs that dont have binding around the top of the guitar are ugly. they definitely need to work on balancing their guitars too. i have a viper-500.. i got used to it but when i bought it the unbalance was a nuisance, and i know the EX series is even worse (the vipers not even that bad compared to an EX).

- And bring back the Goldtop EC400.

- A Gibson Style V w/OFR ala KH-1 or the NV

Not really, I have had some guitars that are like that, they sound great and look cool. Something about a one humbucker guitar that has a certian sound quility. Not better, just different. Marty Friedman's old signature Jackson kellys are that way. True the neck pickup usually sounds fuller for cleans, but I still like the bridge for clean stuff as well.

I don't care what anybody says...........I love the abalone binding on my STBC EC 1K. I've gotten a ton of comments about what a great looking instrument it is. But I can see the point in having more binding options.

I agree with the F basses without inlays, but I could settle for more 35" scale options for bass... bring back the C's, but now with the circumcision-stock please!

As much as i hate the look of the Richard Z sig i doubt he'd be dropped because i think it's one of the best selling sigs in Europe. It's the only Europien to have an ESP sig sold.... Actually alexi laiho, michael amott, ron wood, and Gus G are also european. I'd personally like to see the M 400 with a maple fretboard. and I also agree with some less abalone and leses inlays!

think EMG HZ's but slightly worse... a tad less highs, a tad more lower mids, a tad more output, a tad les clarity, and a tad more noise... I'd still say they sound 90-95% the same

(SB-5's and 4's compared to 40 and 35-Hz's, I mean... not sure about LH-300's compared to H-4's, but I've basically heard the same from them)

Sounds like fail. They really need to start putting quarter-pounders or other, nonfailure ESP or nonfailure EMG pups in there. Though I've begun to realize I hate EMG for bass.

I've always wondered how the ESP custom lab pups sound though for like Navigator and some of the ESP CTM models.

lol... each to his own, then... I LOVE active EMG's for bass and I like the passive HZ's on my F-205 more than some other passives I've played, I'm guessing you're more into the traditional kind of tone... :)

To be fair, I've only played their passive bass pickups so I suppose my criticism towards EMG is less founded than it should be. But as far as what tone I like, I can say none of my favorite bassists were much fans of EMG either.

one really fine addition would be that you can choose between active an passives on the 400/500-series.....right now (along with the jon donais signature which will hopefull be an LTD as well *crossesfingers*) i´m lusting over a h501....but since the see-thought black one comes with emg´s and the SD-one looks like sh.. (even in the catalog pics...) i can´t actually see myself buying one...of course i could buy it in trans black, have the emg´s removes and pur SD´s in but...come on....

Thank you, but you know what, i use to help some friends in in my city (Rome), they're luthiers (www.cloeguitars.it (http://www.cloeguitars.it)), and a lot of times happens that people brought us H or MH to repaint in solids... it's sad for two reasons: first its outrageous and sick to remove an original colour on a guitar (my personal opinion) and second why solids are not in productions??? And where they are its only on cheap models like bolt-on...

Sometimes people like to see pretty colors in different patterns, which is when flame and maple tops constitute. I guess people like to associate that with higher quality, and solid colors with low quality. I might be talking out of my ass, but thats the way it seems. SOLID AND SATIN FTW!!!

There needs to be an MH1000NT .... take the 400 and give it a TonePros bridge. I think that is the only reasonable upgrade to make from 400 to 1000. Oh, and of course LTD is going to do the abalone binding which I hate. Dark red quilted maple top over mahogany and white body/neck/head binding would be great :)

+1 on the see thru purple. Its hard for me to give up the 81.

yea the 81 is overall better but if play rythm alot, the 85 is the way to go, its thicker and warmer (slightly) but if you play leads and rythms like 50/50 id keep the 81, I CANT WAIT FOR MY EC-500 ON SATURDAY!
