Has anyone had any experience with these Earcandy cabs? I'm looking for a good affordable 2x12 to go with a 6505 and stumbled upon this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=290161996321&Category=121161&_trksid=p3907.m29#ebayphotohosting and just need some insight. I was also looking at Avatar and Vader cabs. Suggestions welcomed

yeah probably, i just wanted a little more info on the cabs themselves. I did a lot of google-ing last night and the majority of people that use them are very pleased. The link i provided is for what they call the boa cab which is a cheaper version of their main cab the buzzbomb, which from what i've read is a god send. I'm still really considering a Avatar though.

I have a buzzbomb 2x12 with my hd147.

It weighs a ton and sounds just as huge. ear candy is more expensive than avatar but thats probably because their cabs are all hand made. It's up to you if thats important or not.

i have an avatar 2x12 with vintage 30s for my 6505+, i play an EC1000, it sounds great, one day i tried my amp with one of those nice marshall cabs i think a 1960 or something like that, but still the avatar sounded way better, good thing about avatar is that you can order it with any speaker combination, where i live theres not good music stores, so i couldnt try anything before order it but i ordered mine with vintage 30s because here they seem to be what most of the people like, and they are great!!

avatar makes great cabs for the money. if you don't mind paying a little bit more, you should try a basson cab

i had a buzzbomb for a while, and it was an awesome cab...just didn't work out for what i needed @ the time tho

tim over at earcandy is a great guy tho, we must've exchanged 50 e mails about the cab i bought from them, it was the first piece of custom gear i'd owned, and he helped me sort out every last detail...he even knocked like $15 off the price because there was some feature (can't remember what it was now, this was about 3 years ago) that i couldn't afford and he insisted that i have it!

to give you an idea on a final price, mine has eminence speakers (swamp thang and a tonker), wired for stereo and mono, black with stainless steel grill and it was about $525 shipped.

the tubes started glowing blue around the glass and they also had the normal orange glow when i turn the stand by switch on, but i know somethings wrong bucause it smells like something burning, ill take it to a tech in a music store in texas next weekend, i hope its nothing really bad.

Shit dude, burning smell doesn't sound good.

Dayum, thats a little more than i want to spend. I guess you get what you pay for with these things though.
