Hey i am looking into this bass for drop tunings such as C# F# B E and B F# B E, and i just want some more info on the bass if anyone has owned ir or knows alot about it. I know it is a 35" scale which defnitely helps with the tunings, but i just want to hear a little bit more about it before purchase. Any input is helpful, thank you.

the 200 series basses are some of the best bang for your buck basses in the entire world

yes... the 35" does help a lot with making lower tunings tighter-sounding and tighter-feeling... doesn't mean you won't need thicker strings, tho... you're definitely gonna need a 130 at least for your thicker string if you're tuning to B....

So a 115 wont cut it? ive used that on a 34" scale and it was kinda floppy, but not horrible. are there any 4 string sets that sell em that thick? or would i have to buy a 5 string set and use the top 4 strings

I use a 45-130 set, but I've got an F-205... I tune B E A D G... I'm thinking maybe that set a 115 as your top string would work well for C#, but for Drop B, it might be floppy...

i see....would there be any adjustments i could make to the bass itself to make a 115 work for the B tuning? or any other string brands/suggestions you have? (sorry im picky )

i dunno man... drop tunings are complicated... they made this DF-404 bass a while ago which was a 4-stringer tuned to B E A D... that one would've been perfect for you with some slightly lighter gauge strings...

maybe you could make it work with that particular gauge if you wouldn't mind a bit floppy-ness... it would definitely feel less floppy than a 34", tho, but I dunno if it would feel tight enough... that's for you to decide, as that is personal opinion...

another thing is if you wanna go for ultra heavy strings, there is a chance you might have to file the nut a bit too... plus adjusting the truss rod and setting the intonation which I'd recommend you have a professional do

ohhh, and please keep in mind I'm just trying to inform you, I still think you'd very much like this particular bass for drop tunings ... 35" basses are definitely your way to go with drop tunings, hell, I love the extra tenstion in mine in standard tuning too!
