Anyone who can help is welcome to answer, actually. Rex, I know that you are a great advocate for the Randall RH150G3 head. Seeing as you have far more experiance with it than I do, what can I expect to get out of it in terms of distortion? Can I expect a raw, heavy sound with it on its own, without the aid of any modelers or pedals?

Absolutely... I posted a clip o the RG100SC G2 combo a while back, I'll upload it again to show you the kind of tone you can expect... Clips speak much better for the tone of an amp than words, right?
the G2 and G3 I've tried sound fairly similar... the G2 is a tad more agressive and tight on the distortion but the G3 has slighly improved cleans, IMO... give it a check before you buy it tho!

Rex my friend, you have helped me greatly! I've tried the G2 before, and it could do exactly what I wanted. Because of me being all paranoid and such, I didn't want to take the risk in buying the G3 if it was not similar to the G2.
