View Full Version : FM difference?
Hiya, I was wondering what the difference between an 'FM' guitar and a non-FM guitar is -- I've seen a ESP LTD VIPER 1000 I want.. on one site it has other a ESP LTD VIPER 1000 STBK and a ESP LTD VIPER 1000FM STBK. On the espguitars site I can only see one viper 1000 there (and it doesnt say 'FM').. can anyone enlighten me? Thanks a lot

Its the same guitar. FM means Flame Maple. Which means it has a flame maple top. the stbk means see thru black.

all 1000 vipers come with FM (flamed maple) which is a top over mahagony. Theres also a 100 series POS with it as well. the 1000 series comes in STBC(cherry) or STBK(black)
and NT after some esp's would mean NO Tremolo
Ah thanks a lot for the replies, thats good to know.
..then this site has confused me a little.. re-read it and its got:
> ESP Ltd Viper 1000 See Thru Black
> ESP Ltd Viper-1000FM See Thru Black Cherry
The bottom one is £300 more expensive yet looks no different - its black not the cherry (red) colour.. I'm just a little paranoid bout buying an inferior Viper 1000.. I assume this is just a mistake by the company and they're the same guitar if the only 1000 variations are in colour?
Thanks a lot
