I can understand not wanting to route for a neck pup, but not changing anything from stock just because its not "stock", seems a bit limiting IMO. Do you ever change your strings?

Just somethin' i thought i'd add to this thread seeing as this is a popular question.

a lot of people ask why he has a passive pickup and i read in a super old guitar world magazine interview that it was because if he had an active with his gain boost it would be too much gain.
