HALP! fretboard tips/advice

i'm thinking on staining/dye-ing my fretboard.

how exactly is this done, and has anyone had experience on doing this?

it may seem easy but dying is for an expert. I take it u want ebony? If it was easy everyone would be doing it. ive played guitar for 8 years and never seen it done EVER
