thought i should put up some pics of my explorer i had esp build in 1996. It's 24 frets neck through construction with a kahler tremolo. The coolest thing is the headstock. Any thoughts? I know esp would never build it now..they could'nt..but what would it cost?

I too have seen one very similar if not exactly the same. ESP would still build it, just not for customers outside of Japan (as is my understanding).

Cool axe dude,

The difference is that one is bolted to the body, while the other is part of the body itself. There isn't really any advantages one has over the other, it's all really a matter of personal preference.

the bolt on neck or neck through influence the way the guitar sustains.

Yeah, that is why bolt-ons are substantially inferior, and only fags play bolt-ons.

Bolt-ons are for mo-rons.

Just to add to this what's the difference between set neck and thru neck?
Cheers

Taken on ESP website. \/

"SET-THRU NECK JOINT
Our innovative neck construction technique gives you the look and feel of a neck-thru-body design while maintaining the warmth and wood tone combinations of a set-neck instrument. Access to the upper frets is not a problem. And gone is that old traditional “bulky” set-neck heel."

But its with the price. Ppl think its quality but it how you like it. Someone could prefer Bolt-on then set thru. Or other like more set neck then neck-thru. But lot of people thinks

bolt-on < set neck < neck thru < set thru. cause of the price. Means nothing at all. Its only the way you like the way the neck is put in the body.

My 2 cents

regardless if ESP would ever build it due to headstock or not, its still a killer guitar.
