Unknown Guitar

Hello everyone,

I'm new here, but would really appreciate some help in identifying just exactly what I've got. First off it's an eclipse, with Eclipse Limited on the headstock. It's got the number 6300 on the truss rod cover. The guitar is solid black with white binding around the body neck and headstock. Also, there are no inlays in the fret board. Not even the ESP in the 12th fret. The fret board is completely blacked out. (24 extra jumbo frets) It has the double EMG set up, with 1 volume and 1 tone knob. It has the double locking floyd rose trem system, and all of the hardware is black chrome. I paid $1500.00 for it second hand about 12 years ago over the internet, but got no letter of authenticity with it or anything like that. Does anyone have any idea as to what I've got? If it's not special, it's still special to me!!! NO, it's not for sale!

The only guitar i found that look like what you describe but with more tone/volume knob and with inlays. Sold outside of US and CAN.

Can Anyone tell me if this guitar has any signifigance to it?

You bought it over 12 years ago? The headstock lettering looks like modern ESP style to me, though I don't know much about old ESP stock.

per the harmony central review, your truss rod cover probably says 63/100 rather than 6300. cool guitar!

Thanks guys!, That Harmony review seems to be the closest yet to finding out what it truly is. I've heard that ESP ran a limited edition eclipse called the "Black Beauty" where only 100 were produced. I've been telling everyone that's what it is, but was not certain. But that would definately explain the 63/100 truss rod cover. I obviously have #63 of the 100. :hat That's pretty cool with me!! I leave it tuned down a half step because I play a lot of old Metallica. I'd like to find a white one without the trem system for all of my drop D stuff, like Pantera, Godsmack, etc. Anyone seen one around? I'm thinking I'd have to contact the custom shop and have it built. Thanks again to everyone for the help! If I ever get concrete evidence of what it is, I'll be sure to let you guys know. I stumbled upon this site by accident, but I'm glad I did. It's nice to talk with people who can appreciate one anothers axes, rather than just calling it a black guitar. But then even if it wasn't anything, it is still special to me. It is truly a guitarist guitar!
