I want to tune my guitar by "wax potting".

Are the waxed pick ups better/does it really avoid the microphone feedback?

The only thing wrong with that info is that when you first dip the pickup, you need to leave it in the wax for at least 5 minutes. The pickup will be at room temperature and the entire pickup will need to heat up to the temperature of the molten wax so it can soak into the windings. If you just dip it and swirl it around, the core of the pickup will still be room temperature, and the wax will harden only on the very outside of the windings.
