Anyone tried it? If so, give me your opinion on it. I've read good reviews/comments, and bad ones. I can't try it for myself because there isn't a shop around me that carries it. I just want a preamp/processor that can get good Nevermore, Behemoth, Hypocrisy, In Flames estqe tones. If anyone has suggestions for other preamps, that would be great too. Help is much appriciated!

Yeah man. I done shit loads of research on it, and it seems like it would suit me well. I've seen some clips on the GT-8 ( which is pretty much the same thing ), and it had all the tones i'm looking for, especially the Nevermore tone. I still have my doubts though. Do you like your Boss?

Boss has some good effects. Infact I like boss effects the best. However, I must say, they make crappy amp modals. I have only played the GT6 and ME-50, but I don't picture going much better than that as far as distortion modals go.

I personally love the GT8, and the extra I/O options on the GT Pro make it quite appealing. I think the Boss models are a lot nicer than Line6 models, Im only getting a Line6 rig because Boss don't make a 300 watt head that glows purple...:p

My friend has one and Iv had the chance to spend some time with it, I must say if your looking to record its brilliant. The FX are great and the amount of parameters is just limitless. My friend is a very experimental/versatile player who does a lot of recording where Im a Rock/Metal/Bules player so if I was going to spend that kinda cash Id pick up a tube amp :hat

i like mine but i don't currently use it, i just at one time bought a bunch of different similar preamps to compare 'em, including a roland gp-100, a yamaha dg1000, and others,
some of them sounded awful so i got rid of,
i kept the boss gx700, roland gp100, and digitech 2112,
but the 2112 was the BEST sounding and most realistic sounding, so back when i used these devices it was the one i used most.
i've kept them because i want to go back to playing around with them someday in the future when other stuff in my life gets settled, hopefully in a couple years.
basically your choices today other than used discontinued gear like a 2112, is a Line6 xt pro vs. this boss gt pro, and other similar items out there.
fwiw digitech has come out with again a GSP product, but this time no tubes inside like the 2112 (2120, 2101, valvefx ) all had so i dunno if its worth checking out or just trying to get "gsp" back in their market lineup; i mean it seems like a step backwards for their line progression.
EVERYONE does line6, that itself makes this gtpro a little more appealing to me, jmo.

I agree. I like Line 6, but Boss is better. If Boss made a glowing head ( even not glowing for that matter ), I would definately pick one up. Glowing green would look ace:hat.
i like my podxt pro... i looked at these boss units a few months ago... couldnt be swayed from the xt pro :(
