Hi everyone.I know its not nice for my first post here to be a help question but i know no where eles to turn.I bought a FX-260 about 3 months ago new from ebay.the action was really to high for my taste so i took it to a local teck for a pro setup.the guitar played fine untill i broke a string and put a new set on after that it had a few dead spots...i took it back to same teck and he said the only way other than rasing the action was to have my frets recrown and polished ECT... so i got that done.
Thats been over a month now.Now it started to act up agin. Some times when i bend a string on the 12 fret it feels really rough i can here and feel the string make this scraping type sound..its like that on about 3 or 4 different places on the fret board...oddly enough the next day the fretboard will still have the rough spots but in different positions on the frets..
I had a friend online tell me it could be something with the truss rod...I dont know much about these kind of things..if anyone knows whats causing this or any advise i would be very greatfull...thank you.

If the frets have indents that are really deep, than it would slightly affect intonation, and bending strings may not feel as smooth...
None the less, I presume you have polished all you frets, and they still don't feel smooth to bend on???
If so, you may need a recrown then, but have you tried raising the bridge to increase action instead???
Sometimes, adjusting your relief would also help ease playing, you could try that first...

Thanks for answering.
Yea the frets were polished recrown everything you can have done to them were done..it played like silk for about a week and then i started noticing litttle rough spots and it just keep getting worse.I dont think the intonation is off and their is no buzz sound
is there something i can polish the frets with myself that would help?

Ive been looking on the net and it seem the easy way to polish the frets is using steal wool 0000...has anyone did this before?

Thing is though, are you having any setup issues, eg. relief adjustment and action adjustment...
There may be enough relief or action to be playable, but maybe you are struggling with the current setup???
Tweaking to your comfort might ease playing a little...

Here's a shot in the dark...
Sometimes having the strings thumped into the frets will make indents into them, and you will feel it when you bend them.
Any little kids hitting it with toys or angry girlfriends/spouses thumping the guitar when you aren't looking?

My daughter turned 18 a couple of weeks ago and knows better than to even touch any of my guitars:D and my angry spouse left about a year ago:lol
girlfriends get in the way of my guitar money:rolleyes:
Good news.I fixed it!!!After posting this morning i went to my local hardware store and bought a pack of steal wool 0000 for 3 bucks..got home took all my strings off and and very carefully polished each fret..i had no idea what i was doing so i would rub the wool against fret mabe 5 or 6 times and then hold it up to the sun to see if it was working..about a hour later restrung and PERFECT..My guitar has never played or looked as good. the frets will blind you in the right light:eek:
Its been a great day!!! I really need to learn more about how a guitar works ive been playing for like 15 years and im ok at it but still havent a clue about certain aspects of the guitar...
Thaks to all and KH Guitar Freak thanks for all your time and help.
