Can anyone tell me in the neck/fretboard difference between a ESP horizon and say a M-II urban camo?

Well if you consider the NTII there isnt much difference in them. Both Maple necks and Ebony fretboards. I would say the Horizon is fractionally slimmer profile neck (nearer to a D shape than the MII UC, which is more of a C shape) and the MII UC doesnt change radius much down the neck whereas the Horizon does. Maybe its just my imagination though.

My older Horizon custom (1991) is a slightly deeper neck profile than the NT II. More like a Jackson RR1.

I love that Horizon, Lupet. Esp needs to bring that body carve back into production for the Horizons. The upper horn bevel is even more extreme than how they do it now in the custom series.

They asked someone who could play guitar to come up and jam with them and I volunteered. We played some crap punk song and then I was ushered backstage and handed beers and merch.
I was already pretty drunk and was in no position to argue.
There was a whole bunch of people but the only ones I can remember for sure were Pepper Keenan and Nick Menza.

When I bought it it was neon yellow, beat up and had a single coil middle pickup. I had the guitar refinished and middle pickup filled in, slapped some EMGs in it, cleaned up and refinished the hardware....then decided to sell it.

Well, Ive just finished fitting the new Bare Knuckle pups to my '91 Horizon. They are just brutal.

The Ceramic Warpig is just an absolute delight. Its so clear yet so powerful but the real suprise is the Sinner in the neck position. Its almost...too powerful. I have never felt that from a pick up before and its left m scratching my head somewhat.
How can a single coil pick up sound so apocalyptic that I have to dial some volume off?
I'm experimenting with adjusting the heights and the Warpig is perfect. Just need to get the Sinner right now. I'm close but not spot on.

With both pups selected its just ridiculous. Both rated at 22k.
I've only been using them at home so far through effects and a little old valvestate combo but I've got a feeling they are going to push my JVM into hades. Bring it on. :)

I don't. I really don't like the sunburst/tobacco bursts style finishes. A nice see thru green finish might do it for me. I'm pretty much set on either a Horizon NT-II or an Eclipse II. If they don't add more choices for the finish on the Horizon then it will make my decision that much easier.

I thought someone explained it already, but it's known to be an ash body, maple bolt-on neck with a rosewood fretboard made in Japan in the 90s as a Standard Series level guitar.

Funny. For a while I thought ESP's were all US-made and LTD's were all imports. It wasn't until fairly recently that I learned that all of the current ESP's are being built in Japan.

In 2001 I was looking for a pretty specific type of guitar and ESP was selling their "US Custom Series" at the time. The MH just happened to be exactly what I was after. Same story as a custom shop; buy it, wait 8 months. Worth every penny though.

It's my first and only (so far) ESP, but I'm very seriously considering making a custom shop order in the near future.

That is really a shame. Damned nicely built though. The only thing I would have done differently for as far as I can see from the picture, is the colour. I'm not into purple that much. But hey, I wasn't the one building it. Kudoz for the owner/builder.
