ESP is better playability and craftsmanship than LTD, even though LTDs are still great. I pretty sure every standard ESP comes with a hardshell case, so thats a great plus. 6 months is a long ass time, so have fun waiting:rollin. Congrats, and post pics when it happens.

I don't think Standard Series come with a case in the US anymore...only sigs and Custom Shop axes.

No case? Thats ridiculous.
Thats because when they added the case they raised the prices and everyone bitched. So the following year they got rid of the case included to low prices.

NO CASE!!
But it is worth the hundreds off the 2006 price tag! Get a much better designed SKB or Gator case with the dough you save. :D

I'm sorry but for a high end guitar a case should be taken for granted. It should not be considered in the price at all.
I would be so annoyed with this I wouldnt bother buying the guitar, regardless of the discount. Cases dont cost that much to make. If ESP will not supply a case then the dealer must. Why accept anything less?
I wouldnt want the hassle of buying a seperate case and its nice to have an ESP case with an ESP guitar.
You buy a Jackson, you get a Jackson case. You buy a PRS, you get a PRS case. You buy a Jem, you get an Ibanez case. Why should ESP be different?

Well as I said, in the UK at least, we dont consider a case as a negotiable part of the deal. With a cheap guitar it may be an issue, but with something as expensive as an ESP its not negotiable. You get a case with the guitar and it doesnt cost extra.
I cant believe that ESP consider shipping a guitar out of Japan without a hardcase.

A number of Japanese guitars sold within Japan don't have hardcases either... 8o
I guess if ESP raises prices just a tad so that you can have a spify hardcase, would you then buy an ESP??? :p
None the less, the current company that makes hardcases for ESP is UXL, look at their catalogue, you can find a hardcase for your guitar...

Japanese made Jackson's even the ones that are over a grand don't come with case. All the prestige line Ibanez's including the upper mid price ones all come with cases with no additional charge (or probably added, but not for hundreds more). Why doesn't ESP do it that way? The Standard lines are over a grand. If we're spending that much money for a high quality guitar, can't they just throw in a case for free?

Hundreds off the price tag? Are you sure? ESP cases can be bought for 120 bucks tops for "untraditional shaped guitars" as most other ESP cases cost a little over a hundred.

That's what rocks! Hundreds less for the same guitar compared to the year before, only missing a case that is 150$ tops!!

I'd rather have the option to get a molded or flight case for my axe, than the chip-board case they would be giving you. Incidentally, PRS, Gibson, Jackson and many others cost twice what a SS goes for!

All those guitar companies that you mentioned all come with molded high quality hardshell cases. They are definitley not the cheapo chip-board ones.

Really though, who is seriously going to walk out of a store with a guitar they've paid £1000 for without a hardcase?
Nobody in their right mind anyway.
ESP wont be paying any more than £20 ($40) for their guitar cases and probably much less in the amounts they would be buying. The cases shouldn't be an issue.
Also, what are these axes leaving Japan in if not hardcases? Guitars dont hold up too well in freezing cargo holds in a shitty cardboard box.

I just ordered a Horizon NTII and it didn't come with a case. The dealer I went through added one into the deal tho at no extra cost. Every dealer has the capabilty of doing that!

Jesus! This pertains to North America only. I said that in my original post. There's no pint arguing over this. It's a fact for NA.
I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I think it's a svae bet to guess that it's because everyone in NA was bitching about the prices.
