1991 by the way. Was this model called a custom? I'm not sure.

Congas!
I had the same in black with EMGs and OFR. Yeah, most of the neck thru Horizons were called "Custom". Is that eboner or dark rosebud?

Cheers. I'm sure that bridge pup isnt stock though, right? It looks like an X2N or something.
Did ESP do blade humbuckers like that?
Edit: Its Ebony alright. A beautiful example at that.

Yea that's the stock bridge P/U... mine came with EMG's already installed though.

I might swap them. They sound nice but they could be....... nicer. This axe deserves the best.
I'm thinking of a Bare Knuckle Miracle man or DiMarzio X2N for the bridge and ....well I dont have the first clue about stacked/mini humbuckers. Any recommendations?

Those ESP X2Ns are purty hot, at least mine was. Maybe give it a shot thru your main rig before switching it out. Have fun!

Cheers.
The band I'm touring with in the spring tunes to B so I'll probably have to use heavier gauge strings than I'd ideally prefer. In the other guitar I'll be using for this tour (MII Urban Camo) I have EMG 81's so I'm used to hot pups.
I reckon an X2N in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan hotrail in the neck might be the way to go although I've never used an X2N before and have to rely on word of mouth. I want to avoid using EMG's again if I can but as this band is pretty heavy (Thrash/Death metal) I need something with teeth that is brutal and shreds.
I'll be running it through a Marshall JVM full stack with a Boss GT-6 and/or perhaps an MT-2 pedal.
I have heard that the X2N is as hot as an EMG 81 but with more organic tone. Would that be a fair assessment G Funk?

Fuck it. I've just ordered some Bare Knuckles pups. Its about time I treated myself.
A Warpig for the bridge and a Sinner for the neck. It should sound like Medusa on the Rag!

If you're looking for complete death metal overkill, make sure you get ahold of Tim and tell him to put a ceramic magnet for the warpig :D

I'll be running it through a Marshall JVM full stack with a Boss GT-6 and/or perhaps an MT-2 pedal.
The JVM is more than powerful enough, don't sully its greatness with the MT-2. Use the GT-6 for effects ONLY. The natural tube drive will be far nicer than what either of them can produce.
Nice guitar, by the way  More pics when the new pickups are in!

Yeah man I only use the MT-2 to get a certain sound. Its a good pedal and mines Keeley modded. I only use the GT-6 for effects too and mainly for the prog band I'm in rather than the thrash/death band this guitars for.
The two overdrive channels are ridiculous on the JVM. When the Warpig is installed in this guitar it wouldnt suprise me if I can't have the gain any higher than 3. I dont have it any higher than 5 with my EMG 81 equipped MII UC.
