First of all, id like to say "hi". My first post here :)

To the point. I'm in the process of buying a second hand ESP and I would appreciate some additional information if possible.

The specs given by the seller:
Body: swamp ash with maple top
maple neck
weight: ca 3.5kg
Rio rosewood fingerboard
5 way switch
Serial is: 31868 (build in Japan in 1998)
Custom Shop
ESP LH-200 Pickups (original)

Does all of this check out? What kind of "custom" is it? Is it somewhat comparable to any of the models produced now? (even price-wise)

The picture is here: http://www.zone.ee/upload88/horizon.jpg

Thanks

Its a standard Horizon from the mid-late 90s. Ash body, no maple top. I doubt its Brazilian rosewood. They usually go for around $600-750 on ebay.

havent personally played those lh-200 pickups. are they any good? saw those once on a ESP stephen carpenter model.

what does that "ESP custom guitars" logo stand for in the back of the headstock.

Funny! I'm on a guitar that looks very similar. How much is your seller asking for it?

1. Not a Custom
2. LH-200's are great pups I think. Have 'em on my Eclipse Artchtop.
3. The "Custom Guitars" is a generic stamp that went on all Standard and Custom models.

mod or anyone:
where do these models stand as far as quality? closer to the esp standard models today, or to high end ltds?

It is an ESP standard, not an LTD. LTDs were being manufactured when this one was made.

It's obviously (from the grain pattern) not the same guitar. It also looks like "mine" 's got a few more dings and pocks. Anyway my seller is french. :p
He's selling the guitar with a Charvel case. It's not an ESP case. And he states that they were selling 1200 Euros new at the time.

We didn't get to the price yet, but it would have been around 600-650e.

Got myself a Caparison Dellinger instead ;)

Mine was asking approx. the same price, but his guitar doesn't seem to be in as good a shape than the ex would be yours.
I'm passing my turn, so if anyone wants the contact, just PM me.
