I'm thinking about getting some recording gear together, but I don't know exactly what the best thing to do is. I'm not totally into stuff like the big Digitech floor stations, but I do like the idea of having lots of extra FX and sounds. From what I understand you can get those sounds and better recording out of a multitracker. I don't understand if you're able to set up the sounds and effects on the multitracker and hear them out your amp, then record with a mic going to the tracker. How does that work? Is that true and can you put your recordings on your computer and use some program to fine tune the sound and mix it with other layers? Do the online programs act as an on screen mixing board? The thing I don't like about simple interfaces is you can't record without a computer, so I don't really want to go with one of those.
