pup suggestions?

thinking of trading out the EMGs in my Eclipse II for something more organic.
I was thinking JB/Jazz (B/N).....anybody have any other suggestions?
There is no particular tone that I am looking for, I just want something that will work well with the eclipse and take advantage of the mahogany....I want it to be capable of heavy stuff in the bridge and "jazzy" in the neck...I guess that y I chose the JB/Jazz combo but I know almost nothing of non-EMG pups so any input is welcome

JB/Jazz is a good combo. I liked the JB/59 combo I had for a while. Alnico IIs rock if you don't mind mid-output pups. Ditto with DiMarzio PAF Pros, if you want a slightly more vintage-y feel. All of those combos should be able to achieve what you're looking for. Right now I'm rocking the Alnico IIs :cool:

The SD Custom 5 seems to be a popular choice. Anderson H3+ gets a lot of praise around here. I dig the WCR American Steel for 60s-70s stuff. I've heard great things about Bareknuckle pups. Look around! Or, be more specific.

Also, whatever you decide, I suggest getting your pups from California if you want them pesticide-free - it's the most organic out here :D

You may want to check out the custom 5 if you arent a fan of the jb it's a pickup that either you sound great through or it just makes the sound meh...

I've had better results with the Custom 5 very nice pickup...

alright...so it looks like the Jazz is probably staying in the neck....for the bridge its a tie between the custom 5, JB, and super distortion in the bridge.
Which would sound better in a mahogany guitar?
Is there any site which has samples of each through a mahogany that I can listen to and compare (or has any of u done the compariosn themselves on an eclipse)?
Also curious about the norton and the X2....havent heard much about them but would also like to check some sound bites of those if they r up anywhere

I made a thread about my new pickup (SG Overhaul).
I can recommend the Black Dog, much better than the JB. I have the JB as well at the moment so I can A/B them.

Any pickup you get is going to sound different on whatever amp you're playing thru. I have a JB and it sounds great thru my Mesa. But might sound like ass running thru something else.

The latter is a bit more balanced, imo.
