Why the 400 doesnt have a flamed maple top and 200 has one..

Simply put, costs. If you want a flamed top and crappy wood go for it, but if you want a straight up tone machine a all mahogany axe is the best way to go.

Its simply to make the mid/low entry level-ers a chance of looking like they have a Viper-1K.

The 400 is made of Mahogany, not Agathis.
