Who here has one I'm looking for a 7-String and its between this or the SC-607 but the COW is more in my budget. Anyone Got Pics? Review? Is it crap like the rest of the Pro series because ive had some crappy jackson pro series guitars

I've owned one
It's not a bad guitar, so long as its been set up properly
also, you might want to upgrade the tuners, the stock ones don't seem all that stable.
I havnt owned a carpenter but I have had several opportunities to play them. overall the SC just feels better. theyre both made of mahogany but the wolbers is way lighter and feels almost like a toy
I was torn between the 2 as well. I ended up getting a black SC-607b. Not all SRC's are mahogany. The natural ones are mahognay and the painted ones are maple.
Would still love to get a COW in desert camo though, but I already have a Jackson 7 string.

The Red Blue Pearl is hotter

I'm thinking of getting the 6 string version as a backup for my V but I'm still pondering it.

Id either get a SC-607 or a Schecter Hellraiser C-7 over the Jackson, but if you want overall hotness id get a COW in red or silverburst.
Also the fact the Schecter and SC have 2 pups is a big factor over the single of the COW.

I rarely use the neck pickup anyway, Half of my axes either don't have a neck pickup or they do and it's disconnected.

My second fav.
I still prefer the red blue pearl.

It does have an ebony fingeboard, which the SRC 607 and 607b are lacking. (Not the biggest fan of rosewood.) Though I just can't get past the neck joint on the import models. Now, if you find a custom neck-thru one at DCGL or on E-Bay, that would be a monster guitar.

I've had multiple opportunities to play both the 6 and 7 string CoWs and personally I don't like the feel of either of them. The fingerboard radius seems ridiculously flat and the tone isn't great. I own a Carvin DC727C and as far as seven strings go, I haven't played one any better. Although I haven't played any ESP custom shops or the like, but we're talking a specific price range here. Also, even though the desert camo looks cool in pics I think they did a limp-dick job of it in real life. There is bright green in it for some reason and it looks stupid (IMO).
So I would vote for a Carvin, but if that's not an option then go with the Steph Carpenter.
