So yeah, I am having serious GAS for an Edwards Alexi sig... but I'm not really sure if its worth it. Single passive, no tone pot etc. What are everyone's experiences with them (or the LTD or ESP versions)? I played one of the LTD ones recently and I thought it felt horrible. It felt cheap and plastic with poor upper fret access and a chunky feeling neck. Basically I'm looking for a guitar to use for only metal, as my KH-2 is tuned to standard right now at least until I finish recording my punk band's album.

There's an '07 M-I on the bay for about the same price as the Alexi Edwards.

So, I got a chance to play another one of the LTD Alexi's yesterday. They unfortunately had sold the only ESP Alexi they had. I got a longer time with this LTD, and it was in better shape than the other one I had tried. I still have to say my overall impression wasn't great. The guitar obviously looks great, and I love the design, but compared to the KH sigs it feels so light and cheap. The neck feels too chunky for my thin fingers, and the painted neck was bleh. How is the Edwards neck? Is it a natural satin finish? Is it reasonably thin? How does it compare to the KH-2 neck (my favorite neck ever) It just sucks I can't play an Edwards before I buy it.

Well ive never tried the KH2 and don't think i ever will for a very long time. The neck on the edwards is really awesome. Main reason i love this guitar is because of the neck. I don't like Ibanez's "fast" necks. It's really too thin and flat. The edwards is natural satin finish ...i thought it was called unfinished...whatever. Its a relatively smaller width neck compared to the broad ibanez (or at least it feels that way). Its got a roundeir neck design but not FAT like present day Gibbies.

I'd be happy to take some more pics for you if you are interested,
Shreddy

Whats the diff between Edwards and ESP/LTD, and where can you find Edwards?

I have both an Edwards and Sig Alexi. The Sig has about 30 min of play on it and the Edwards with mm-04 has over 200 hours. I like the real Rhoads shape of the Edwards, and the neck is incredible. Not really an Alexi fanboy just a Rhoads and concorde fanboy. Also didn't know about the SV's till after I bought the Sig, or would have went that way, instead of Sig. Then I found out about the Caparison Orbit's, serious GAS for one of those.
If you want better body and back of neck pics, let me know, will do for both.
