the covered ones are the dave mustaine livewires, they're actives i forget when they started using those, but those are the newer ones, the older ones had the uncovered jb and 59 jazz

Yup dems Livewires, and it says that in the auction. $2159 is too rich for my blood. The serial number indicates it was made in 2006. The COA is signed and dated in the US before it ships, which could easily be a few months after manufacturing.

It's a good price, go for it. I'm sure if you go in with cash in hand, you'll get some sort of discount too.

I don't mind buying used guitars, and these usually go in the $1,500 - $1,700 range in very good/excellent condition on ebay. Decide if the price is right for you.

If you're in the UK, and you're paying that much for the guitar, you do realise that you're going to be paying around £500 for Import and shit?? Check out Sound Control, they have stores all around the UK, and the one in Southampton has a DV8-R on the wall, but I can't remember, it may have been a DV8...give them a call.

customs/import duties are a bitch BUT theres a way round it...ive bought a few nice pieces over the years and i always ask the seller to mark the guitar at a lower price....i bought a jp custom shop paul and had it marked at 350 us dollars..the duties cost me 65 quid
i`ll look into sound control..thanks for the info

Unlucky then if it's insured for that and anything happens to it though ;) (referring to if the thread starter did this too)
When I bought my Hanny UC from Sean, it cost me $4k and so customs/import duties ended up at £400...

luckily ive never yet had a problem { touch frikin wood :} }....so if you paid 400 on 4k then even if insured fully i should only be paying about 200

If want a V, why not give ESP V STD a try, you might have to wait afew months but it would only cost you £1299.
