OFR are great proven bridges! Kahlers are great bridges but there are several different models (spyder,2700,2300,3300 etc) so it would be helpful if you could tell us the model you are interested in. In general Kahlers are more complicated to work on and to adjust or to find parts if they get messed up, however, string changes on a kahler 2300 are faster and easier than on a floyd and the pull up range is a lot higher sometime all the way to a perfect fifth!!! the bottom line is that both are great systems and you can't go wrong with either one, just consider some of the points I previously discussed. ;)

I love Kahler! I swore that i would never get another floyd after i got mine. I have had to set up several floyds since for my friends...and still cannot stand the way that they work. Its just pointless...god damn saddles...

Goooo Kahler!

maybe you just got a dud :P

I have had nothing but brilliance from my kahler. Never had to do anything to it...and i obliterate the thing at times. It stays in perfect tune.

What exactly what your problem with it?

floyds are better imo because when u bend hte strings they don't go out of tune like a kahler, kahlers feel different too, they're alot smoother

no they are the kahlers that are able to act like a fixed bridge as well.

Aren't kahler guitars way easier to re-string?

Sorry, I have only experience with hard tails.

The route is no the same, so you might have to reroute for the Kahler to fit properly.

To some degree they are! specially the 2300 series.

Can you use a floyd nut with a kahler instead of having a regular nut with the kahler nut behind it?

Anywho, as an owner of guitars equipped with both Kahler and Floyd Rose bridges, I can safely say that I prefer the Kahler by far. I use a 7200 Hybrid, and it does go out of tune slightly with string bending (my FR does not), but that's the only advantage of the Floyd, IMO. Besides, all you have to do is dive, then jerk the bar back up, and it's perfectly in tune again. My Hybrid equipped IC400 beats my OFR equipped BC Rich hands down.

Kahlers are smoother than floyds but feel totally different. Really one of the things were you have to try them out. Kind of a middle ground is the Ibanez ZR trem but of course you can only get those on their S series.

I just got a Custom Shop Hanneman w/ Eagles. It has the Kahler 2315 on it. It couldn't stay in tune to save it's life. It seems to be nicely build, so I have to assume it's something wrong with the setup. It goes out of tune even if I'm just chording. Then it falls atleast 1/4 a step out of tune if I bend. Try the dive and pull up, and it only corrects it ever so slightly but it's still horribly out of tune.

If anyone has any advice for me, PM me. It would be much appreciated. I only got this Hanney because I'm a devout Floyd player, but I wanted to try something new out and have a little variety in my arsenal. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my problems.

Eh. Just thought it'd be better than spamming the board with a copy thread. I unfortunately forgot to read the post date after using the search function. I guess if all the tech support forum offers is smartass comments, then I'll seek help elsewhere. I won't be receiving the help I need here. :\

I did used to know of a site that had a great setup guide for Kahlers, like any bridge to perform at their optimum they need to be setup properly..

Kahler advise is : change return springs ( every three years ).
If yours is from 06 or 07 that should be it.
