I heard that the MX's are being discontinued. I heard they are just finishing the orders that have been placed and then that's it for them. Is this true? If so why? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

I can sadly confirm that this is true the mx shape will not be produced after this year only the new ex shape, what a shame but i guess it just means all the esp exp and mx owners can be happy in the knowledge that the prices on them will increase.

Well, I just recieved an email:
I am terribly sorry to inform you that both of our store and the
manufacturer, ESP does not have this model in stock. As you may
know, the MX-250II is only available on request and it takes
several months (approximately 3 to 4 months) for the guitar
to be build. Our best offer for this guitar including shipping/
insurance cost to the U.S. is as follows:
MX-250II (w/gig bag): XXXXXX JPY
Shipping/Insurance cost: XXXXX JPY
_____________________________________________
Grand total: XXXXX JPY
I would be grateful if you would advise me if you have
any interest in placing an order for the MX-250II in
snow white.
Believe it or not!

Unfortunately, the high profile of Hetfield led to Gibson threatening legal action. Despite the number of manufacturers making EXP type models, ESP was digging into their profits so they got mad.

Yeah......thanks for that post.....
Ok, my bad....or actually not my bad. There was a miscommunication between the dealer in Japan and the ESP rep.
MXII are discontinued but you can custom order them at the dealer for around 400,000¥. Here's the email:
"I just talked to an ESP staff about the MX-250II (the latest model name
of the guitar is MX II). Unfortunately, they have discontinued it. There
was a miscommunication between ESP and my collegue yesterday, sorry.
ESP can accept a custom order to make the same guitar, however, our
price would be around 400,000 Yen."
Sorry guys, thought I was so lucky to order one.:(

As I guess this e-mail comes from Ishibashi... I will clarify this.
MXs have always been custom ordered because they were quiet special... Always. This, since MANY YEARS.
Once again, they are not discontinued...
Also, the price of 400.000 JPY is same since 1 year ago, so there is basically absolutely no change.
The situation is exactly the same than before.
Also for ESP Japan, in Japan, discontinued means nothing because they still do sometimes special runs of their old models and all the old models can be ordered as custom order for no extra cost.
If a model can be custom-ordered, it means it is not discontinued.
No change, nothing special, they will still be available from any ESP store and on order only from the other dealers as it has always been.
Thanks.

And now lets see how long it takes for all the ebayers to finally get this. Everybody on ebay still says they are discontinued. There was a used MX that sold for fucking $3000.
