Got this in yesterday and immediately was thrilled with how it sounded and played, even without setting it up to my specs! Absolutely LOVE the bare maple neck. Compared to my M-I...
The M-II is quite a bit 'snappier' and more responsive, as well as brighter. The M-I has a much fuller sounding low end and is tighter feeling and sounding, overall. Both are equally cool, and I love haveing the variety! That said, I'll be tracking rhythm gats with the M-I, as it's tighter and fuller sounding, and doesn't have the 'give' of an OFR when I really dig in.
Enough review... time for pics!

I also figured this would be a perfect time to snap a family shot, so here are all my axes with my halfstack:

Haha thanks guys! Still loving the M-II... probably my most played guitar at the moment!
I absolutely love the M-I... Sounds punchy and tighter than all hell, but is still very full and resonates extremely well.
The Schecter... Started out as an old C-1 Stealth:

After it being my main and sometimes only axe for about 4 years, the finish just looked like crap. Black finishes show scratches like nothing else, as you guys know, and I've never found Schecter's finish quality to be all that great. It looked almost matte black with all the swirling, so I sanded all the finish off.

As you can see, in certain parts, I sanded down to bare wood instead of just sealant like I intended to. After a while I got sick of the inconsistency of the job I did, and for whatever reason, tried to give it an arm cutaway and then took a blowtorch to it.

jefftd...
one more question about the m-1..
how is the finish holding up on it? I am always weary of satin finishes wearing down too easily.
have you had any problems with it?

It's gone semi-gloss around tone knob, right on the arm rest, and around the bottom of the body where it rests on my leg when sitting, but thats it. Still looks matte and I'm not bothered at all by whatever glossyness there is.
My biggest problem is the damn chip I put in it last month - you can just barely see it in the picture. Go directly left from the center of the bridge pickup to the edge of the body.

i'm not so worried about it going "semi-gloss" as the finish coming off altogether. I actually think it would look kinda cool because after several years of use it would naturally "relic" itself which would be cool. Thanks for the info.

i like the idea, except for the arm cutaway.
is there any finish on the guitar right now, satin lacquer or some sealant?
if not, won't the wood take damage over time?
thanks for the info.
still, looks killer!
edit: i've heard of people using a blowtorch to actualy remove the paint and not get into the inconveniences caused by sanding, but i aint so convinced about that.
(the flame is supposed to just make the paint brittle and practically remove itself, evenly)
