I'm debating between gloss black and vintage black, can't make up my mind.

VB or VHB (the satin ones) they just feel better than the glossy ones.

well the satin finish will wear off and the gloss finish wont...so..up to you.
i like the feel of satin more so that's what i'd go for.
my old EC-500S felt nice but it started wearing off after a month, before i sold it.
VB no doubt. I can't stand abalone.
yeah, that black on an EC doesn't mix well with abalone.

I've got no problem with the satin (yet)!
Yes, it's not lame, have you ever seen an old strat? It gives the guitar character.

Go for the Satin.

The satin finish rubs off into a gloss finish after a single tour.
Get the Gloss, classic looking.

I'd personally take the vintage black one, since it looks better..
Also, the abalone on the fretboard has a tendency to flake after some time.

I absolutely love the blue ones and really like the green ones. Good move from LTD.
Next step is to ditch the horrible abalone bling. Who ever came up with that? If it didn't have that and just some natural or white binding on the body, I just might've saved up a little bit more before going for the ec-400.

^ I dunno. I think the abalone actually looks pretty good on the blue EC!

whichever ones don't have abalone! :)
VBK and VHB if I'm not mistaken...
Looking to buy the STB one the second it hits the shops in the UK. Anyone got any idea of when this might be?
just a question: is the only difference between the 500-series and the 1000-series the fancier finishes in the higher one?

You get Schaller locking tunas & a tone-pros bridge on the 1000's. I think that's everything.

The VB one. I bought my in the USA because the Vintage Black one in Germany hast the abalone stripes like the black ec 1000 and abalone just looks good as the inlays.
The guitar is awesome.

definitely you shoul choose the satin black, it has ebony fingerboard the others have rosewood an it also look great, of course a lot diferent from the usual glossy guitars but its fucking sweet, y have one and its awesome, the only bad thing y see on it is that the gold hardware wears out on the bridge, and i have read some peopl says that it also does on the knobs but i use them A LOT and they are fine so maybe its just with some guitars, you can put it some hind of spry to protect them so the wont loose the color but well i think any of those guitars are amazing
