i went through the features of both the guitars

i just want to know which one do you think is a better option

i havnt played either of the guitars n cant do tht too. Because i stay in a fucked up place n will have to order the guitar straight away. So i wont get a chance to play either of them.
So i would want to know the opinion of the people here. Plus whats the diff between the combination of 2 81's and 81's n 85's, and which will be better for soloing?

would also like to know the prices

thank you

hey mate... its a matter of taste actually... depends on what you play...
if yr like me and play alot of neo-classically inspired stuff with bluesy licks thrown in, then the m1000

if you want a fatter, not so tight tone, for more traditional rock and blues and the ability to go all out metal... get the mh-1000

tighter sound - m
wamer fatter sound - mh

both are top notch quality

i recommend both

the neck on the M1000 is also thinner than on the MH... so there's another factor to decide...

and yeah, Asher has that description right... the MH is fatter-sounding and the M brighter-sounding... I wouldn't say the MH does not sound tight, tho, ESPECIALLY with EMG 81's

the 85 in the neck position yields for fatter and warmer sounding clean tones and leads... the 81 in the neck is brighter... people usually say the best EMG for cleans is the 60... I personally think that with some tweaking, you can get a good clean tone outta the 85 as well... personally, I'm not too big on the 81, but each to his own! :)

I can only speak on behalf of the mh-1000, but she's a beauty. I find the 85 very nice for cleans and thats on a 5150mk2 with an eq added. The MH's neck is really really comfortable as well, no complaints what so ever, perfect for shred, rhythm and everything in between. mine is the natural black one with no floyd though and the new ones have a bit too much sparkly binding shit going on for my liking, particullarly around the body. I play a mix of straight up u.s metal (machine head, log, slayer), right through to stuff like the tea party & ben harper stuff and I get some very satisfying tones all around with the 81/85 and my amp, may sound hard to believe though...
