hi. I've just found this auction http://cgi.ebay.de/ESP-Custom-Gitarre-ca-1985-ex-Warlock_W0QQitemZ170239823982QQihZ007QQcategoryZ46 645QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem on ebay, and I have some questions about it, cause maybe I'll bid.
So, first and the most important - is it real ESP, or some kind of copy?
And are these guitars from mid 80's good or crappy? Or will it be better than by eclipse from mid 90's, or worst, or all ESPs are the same/similar quality?
EDIT - and one more question :). Is the ESP floyd good, or it should be replace to OFR?
Oh, and one more. I see here 2 pickups, but no toggle or sth. WTF?
I will say you should probably replace the trem.

Hmm, I see. And would be it problem, or the OFR should fit? I mean, it is that hole suitable or it's too small/too big?
that I dunno about sorry.

Ok, no problem :).
And what do you think about "is this guitar original"?

The pot is probably push-pull pickup select. I've never seen an ESP like that before.

Oh, ok.
In auction there is "custom made", so it could be one of this early customs, but I don's speak German very well, so I need ask my mother what exactly is in auction :)

How so? Have you ever played one of those? I VERY much recommend some of those old school ESP / Schaller trems. An Original Floyd Rose will drop in that cavity without any problem.
Its a legit guitar, as thats ESPs "banana" headstock, and hardware. I always thought they used a backplate stamped ESP, but I could be wrong.
Cool guitar, but I cant read a fuckin' thing on that website.

ESP Strat
- Build year ca. 1985
- Custom Made (Warlock True as Steel-Tour)
- ESP FloydRose
- SeymourDuncan Pickups
- Vintage White
- Ash Body
- Maple neck with Ebony fretboard
- Unbelievable Tone (Super thick but clear and defined)
- superb Sustain
Try the guitar and you will be blown away. It sounds unbelievably good.
The guitar was played a lot. That's why it has some Dings and Dongs.
But nothing really bad. Original Relic, even. See the pictures.
The frets are still good and it won't need a fretjob for a long time.
Here ya go, mates ;)

Looks just like a Lynch Kamikaze without the fancy paint job. I actually really like that guitar! And like Soulfly said, that Synclair trem is just fine as long as nothing is stripped out or broken. Those trems are as good as an OFR, IMO.

It is weird that thereīs no serial number, usually it was on the neck plate (which is also not used on this guitar), but itīs also not on the back of the headstock

in my experience most liscensed trems are not good but I didn't know that they were made by schaller which in that case keep it.
