Quick question about the old school ESP explorers. are the dimensions the same as the gibson version? becaus ei want to build my own based of the esp but i can only find templates for a 58 explorer or whatever year it is

Just build the 58 and then put ESP on the headstock.

It's NOT the same.
And yes, I'm gonna build one too.
The best thing you can do is to copy the shape from an existing guitar. See if you can get in touch with someone who owns one or buy one yourself.

Not if he plans to build something high end himself. He could buy an EXP-200 for a couple o hundred and then proceed to build a high end set neck guitar.

for shur ^^^ Its gonna be more ken lawerence then esp but since the KL is based off of the esp

imagine this body but with james hetfield/esp explorer controls, these inlays and the KL headstock all finished in the satin black and maybe gold pinstripe on the Headstock

Sperzel tuners are so sexy.
I now have a set of the 6 in line Sperzels, too bad they don't have the 3/3 design nuts, but they still look good.

think you could try and take a front on pic of it? so i can attempt and make a template out of it
