Having a Kh-2 vintage custom shop for almost a year, it has been the guitar I have constantly gone back to. I recently got a gibby explorer, and I was kinda disappointed with the quality.

Anyway, I needed a more versatile sounding guitar since I started jamming with a band... Just picked up a standard series ESP MII (bolty with SD's), and I'm totally blown away! Its actually very close in quality to my Custom Shop KH!

The neck is totally awesome, and the Seymour duncans seem more versatile than EMG's.

Wow!

I get to compare an MII ntb to my dear Jackson SL2H Soloist (w/ EMG81/85) in a few days. Both are made in 2008 and since they're quite a close match specwise, the differences in finishes should really stand out. I expect lots from the ESP, but doubt it'll bury my Jackson :)

(though I dislike the painted neck a bit)

I've owned alot of standard series guitars and also a custom shop horizon. The standard series stuff blew my custom shop horizon out the water in my opinion.

I love that one.

I would have bought it as well if the US $ was better.

Yeah he did, he bought it off me. I use to work with him at the music store.

I dunno man, i think it was the combination of woods i chose for it, it just wasn't that resonant, nowhere near as resonant as my NTII.

What were they?

Mahogany body with flame maple top
mahogany neck thru
rosewood fingerboard
thin u neck
EMG 81/85

I'm thinking maybe i should have gone for an ebony fingerboard, but at the time, i ordered it and took my chance.
