The one on the left is the "normal" ESP EC and the one on the right is the new ESP EC Full Thickness.

I believe they're both CTMs but the one without the cut is the Full Thickness (FT) model :)

As far as I know the ctm = custom, but its only the European way of saying its a standard with the old shape horn and four control knobs. Its not the same as the American custom which is far more expensive and valuable than the European ctm. I own a Eclipse standard-ctm in standard black cherry and it is one hel of a beast!! It also comes out standard with a set of Emg81` s and not a 60 in the neck, although this might of changed with newer models.

American custom - Don`t you know of the Eclipse custom ( Also known as the Eclipse 1 Custom).

These customs are the standards with better woods,hardware and all that jazz.
