Hello i am a first time poster and i just wanted to share my guitar with you guys. I was told it is an 1986 Horizon. i am not sure if i should post in the custom section or not the guitar says ESP Custom Guitars on it but... a friend tells me oh it cant be a custom so idk. its in a little ruff shape the previous owner drilled holes in the thing like a retard and i cant think why:confused:. i had seen it one day hanging on the wall at the local guitar center and immediately knew i had to have it. i went back and looked at it almost everyday for 2 months and then scraped up enough money to get it. i got an awesome deal of $500 after tax and that includes a road runner soft case and a 21ft monster guitar cable. this was a HUGE step up from my previous guitar ESP LTD m-55 and GOD i love this horizon. I have been playing on it for a little over a year now and wouldnt trade it for anything:) anyway ive bored you enough with my life story so here are the pics. they will be replaced by tomorrow night with better picks i just really felt like posting tonight. (if pictures are too big i apologize)

idk if this is the serial number but i saw something on here about registering or submitting your serial and it will tell you when the guitar was made and other stuff about it and now i cant find it. if some one could tell me or direct me to it i would appreciate it.

A screw coming out of the fretboard..it looks like it could be one of the neck plate screws...which would indicate it's tightened hawrd as hell for it to be coming through the fretboard itself. That's the first time I've heard of that happening before.

some jackass probably took it apart and put the wrong screws in the wrong place or something

guitar looks great though, nice grain on the body and flame on the neck

Mid - late 90s standard Horizon, ash body, maple neck, rose board, $5-700 on ebay.

do you mind if i ask how you found that out? do you own one or just have the knowledge from over the years? so this is a standard guitar then? sorry for putting it in the custom section i just (to my knowledge) had no way of knowing

and this might be covered somewhere but ill ask anyway... is there a way yo fix the hole in the fretboard (and maybe the body but that is a secondary priority) cheap but right? i dont want some kind of shitty repair that i will notice/feel but i cant spend $$$ to get it repaired professionally.

and one more while im on the subject of asking questions:) is there a way to tell what pickups are in the guitar without taking them out? i need a new push/pull volume potentiometer and i just wanted to know so i can make sure i get the right thing...

These are listed on ebay regularly. I am sure you could do an archive search for a list of the specs if you do not consider me creditable. There are pics of several others on this forum if you do a search. The holes can be fixed fairly easily, but you may want to take it to a luthier for a professional job. Although the pics are atrocious, the pups appear to be a 81/89 set.

no it is not that i dont take you as credible i was just wondering how you knew... i meant no offense by my statement and i apologize if it was taken that way.

I agree with GFunk. I was just getting ready to say it was a mid to late 90's standard.

I'd also check to make sure the bolts were put back on the neck correctly. Short ones go in the thinner part of the pocket, the larger screws go in the thicker part (as if that's not obvious). Whoever said someone may have taken it apart and put them back incorrectly could be right. I'd make sure.

Dont worry about Gfunk. He acts tough after a few Zimas.
