Horizon mod. Opinions?

I've got plenty of black guitars, so I wasn't interested in blacking-out my Horizon. I like the look of covered pickups, because I like how it accents and the contrast in colors. I don't want to bother waxing and putting covers on the SD's, so I got chrome rings instead.

Apparently, the bridge is nickel and not chrome (color difference), so I might replace that. I dig the look, the pic doesn't really do it justice. It really makes it pop, imo.

Nice! I tried to get one with a Floyd too. No dice.

I'm seriously considering ordering a "custom" in see-through green with a floyd. (I'd just ask for a regular FR-II in a custom finish and shipped stateside.)

That's a really nice quilt! I didn't think the chrome rings would look that good, but man that's looks great!

The only thing I would do differently is the inlays. Not a big fan of the blocks.

The quilt is perfect and the chrome mounting rings just blend in. It should've been done like that in the factory.

yes but if u look better, you will see for example that the esp writing in the one i like is black. in the other one is white :-o

As for the color, I've seen pictures that are the same as the musik-schmidt color. The black logo seems right for the FR-II (Floyd Rose bridge version). I'd guess that the actual color is more like mine and the one at the top of this page, than the website. The serial number on the website is a 2005 model, ESP might have made the color more blue since then.
