Hi every one.... :rollin
I need a little bit of help with my recto setting.... I'm looking for a particular kind of sound for a recording that I need to do..... I need a really tight sound, like Megadeth, Black Tide, In Flames and all that stuff...
So if anyone could help me with the setting.
I have a 3CH Dual Recto with a Marshall 1960B Cabinet..... if i need any other equipment like, EQs, Compressors, etc... tell me and i'm gonna looking for that you recommend me with my friends and co-workers.
Thanks guys!
Cheers!

Before I try to tell you settings, what are you planning on recording with? You cant get a good tone through shitty equipment- What do you have now?

Before I try to tell you settings, what are you planning on recording with? You cant get a good tone through shitty equipment- no matter how well you eq the amp. That being said, you can get a pretty useable setup for about $150.
I'm Recording the Riff Section of a new album for a band here in Chile...
I usually use de Recto for riff recording in the Orange Channel Modern mode.
Bass: 11:00
Mid: 12:00
Trebel: 2:00
Prescence: 3:00
Gain: 2:30
Ch Vol: 11:00
Output: 12:00
Power: Spongy
Rectifier: Tubes
This setting is more like a "nickelback" sound.... but now the band wants something more like the Metallica "justice" Album... so I was trying this Settings in the Orange Channell in Modern mode:
Bass: 11:00
Mids: 9:00
Trebel: 2:30
Prescence: 2:30 - 3:00
Gain: 2:30
Ch. Vol: 1:00
Output: 12:00
Power: Bold
Rectifier: Diodes.
But i'm not totally convinced with this sound for recording.... so give me some suggestions...
Cheers!

I believe he was asking about the GUITARS & such that you are using... you already stated you're using a Dual Recto as the amp, and everyone knows that is a good amp.
So.. axes, pups, other goodies such as fx we should know about that you have available to you???
I say simply turn the mids just about off. bass at noon, treble at 3pm. that should give you close to a Justice sound. If you have a BBE sonic maximizer you could use that, which is essentially what made Justice so WOOFY sounding: overuse of the BBE.
I have mine in the loop but its settings are typically minimal at best.
a simply 7 band eq pedal, such as the Boss GE-7, should get you very close to whatever you are trying to sound like. And fwiw the KK 10 band should get you even closer because there is more to fiddle with(read as Adjust! lol)
btw, nickelback use Mesas... you should be 97% of the way there just by plugging some decent axes into the amp.
good luck.

jajaajajaja yeah, i know that..... but I need a little bit of more technical support... jaja... I need get a particular kind of sound, not just a copy of the justice sound..... is something like if you mix the guitar sound of the "justice" album, the Black album", "united abominations" or "youthanasia"..... i don't want the same sound of those particular albums, just a similar sound character.

I'm not sure if this will get you quite there, but I love the tone of a Mesa Rectifier boosted with a tubescreamer-type overdrive pedal :)

well just get yourself a sound that is satisfying to YOU from the amp you are using, regardless of manufacturer or model #...
if you can be happy with the tone then you'll be able to do something with it.
And almost always the sound man/engineer will dial in whatever he wants to hear at the board... at least in a LIVE setting that is.
I'm sure it helps you accomplish goal if you're nearer the tone you desire when you start, right?
go with what sounds good to you. forget about those other bands... I understand what you're trying to do now.. but ya.
good luck.
