I keep the RG (maple fretboard)in Estandard and run it through a 5150 with 212 cab
I was thinking paf pro or air norton for the neck(will it be too bright sounding?)

Im really having problems on selecting a bridge pickup because Im looking for something thats good for chugging and will produce nice articulate leads at the same time aaand its got to have decent power ofcourse

so can u guys steer me in the right direction on this one?

I forgot to add that the rg has a h-s-h setting ideas for single coils are welcome too

No, the Air Norton would be perfect for that type of guitar!

I wouldn't worry about sounding too "bright". Basswood isn't as "bright" as people make it out to be. Its actually darker than Alder.

I've been having the same dilemma with picking out Dimarzio's for my RGT, I've narrowed it down to either:
X2N-PAF pro
Evo2-Evo
Super3-Evo

My RG is mahogany however, so for basswood i'd probably go:
Evo-Evo
Evo2-Evo
PAF Pro-PAF Pro
You could always use the D-sonic in the bridge to, I've never played a guitar with one but from what I've heard it sounds great.

True. My experience with basswood (although very limited) is that it's midrange heavy to the point of sounding bassy. A pickup with good treble response would likely serve you well, especially in the neck position.

ok so the Evo 2 will stil give some nice death metal rhythm tones right?Im really interested in the harmonics it can produce, seems like a safer choice than the 1st Evo since its rumored to sound too thin and having no dynamics at all (related to the 81 perhaps? :lol).Emgs kind of ruin the 'feel' for me on the improvs so Im going allout passive from now on.This will be my first passive aftermarket set so if anyone has some more advice for this n00b do not hesitate to comment

I'd go Tone Zone/PAF Pro or dual PAFs.

Mine is basswood, & the Evolution Bridge, Air Norton Neck combo works wonderfully for me.

I'm going D-Sonic/PAF Joe... I recommend that combo :)
