i just bought a Pre-"Gibson Lawsuit" EXP
its a 1994, Gloss black exp.
it has an 81 85's EMGHZ combo in it.
bolt on neck and dot inlays.
but i cant figure out wat EXP model it is.
like the 12th fret doesnt have a model number or anyhting on it?
it just has the 2 dots?
any idea on finding out witch model it is?
or like were i can find out?

no such thing... they're either an EMG 81/85 set or EMG HZ's...

If it doesn't have the 12th fret model name inlay it must be one of the higher end models.

Some came out without the inlay, I had the choice of an EXP 200 with or with out the inlay

DA is selling an exp200 and its alder.
no 12th fret model number.

ok 1999 were mahogany, all others were alder. but some slipped out with different woods.

i put down a deposit
which is why i dont have all the info on my gutiar.
so i apologize for not having the right stuff about it,
ill have it in a few weeks.

that is is a bolted on neck,
pre lawsuit, LTD EXP
it has EMG Hz's in it,
gotoh locking tuners
has a high gloss black finish.

LTD's didn't come out until 1996, maybe late '95.

Early versions of LTD's had no number designations, as there was only 1 version of each style.

Also, early LTD's had ESP LH p/ups in them (LH200/LH300 or something like that), not EMG HZ's or Duncan Designed.

Early ones also had "by ESP" written on the truss rod and the LTD script logo was generally an inlaid MOP/abalone looking logo. After a year or 2, the decal logo appeared as well as 100 an 200 series guitars. For one model year, the H series had a big block LTD logo that took up the whole end of the headstock.

Without pics it's kinda hard to say, but if it came stock with HZ's, it's not an early LTD, IMO. Also, locking Gotoh's are not stock for that model, ever.

no i realize that the early LTD's hade the LH series,
this one was moded,
and now has EMGHZ's and gotoh tunners.
ill grab the pics ASAP
