I've had a 6505+ for a while now and I decided to take the wood cover off the front so I could see the tubes in the dark (looks cool). Anyways I noticed today when I played with the volume around 2 (which is loud) the tubes glow more (blue like glow) when I'm hitting chords and glow less when I don't. Does this mean my tubes are about to explode or is this normal and I never noticed because the wood cover was on?

Tubes don't just explode.

to moderate the variance in glowing, you need to take a can of "Sterno" camping jelly (it's a general lubricant for use in camping, is pink and is like jello ),
open the can, turn it over, and place it onto the top of the tube,
smush the can of sterno down onto the tube - the jelly inside will allow this.
this ensures your tubes won't explode or catch on fire or anything.

Great! I happen to have a whole case of Sterno on hand. I will just apply a thick coat over my entire amp and it will be indestructible!
All I was asking is if it means the tubes are dying or if it's normal.

If the amp sounds and acts the same as always, you are fine.

There is a lot more signal (amplitude) being amplified when you hit a chord than when you do nothing. It makes sense to me.

Don't worry.
