View Full Version : New Kirk Hammett ?!?!

On www.metontour.com you can find an image from the latest rehearsals where Kirk plays an ESP if never seen before... He plays it on the pic so you can not see everything but it has some kind of a "bat" inlay at the 12nd fret and cross inlays on the others. The Body has a coulerd graphic I cant see because of the way the pic is done.

he's been a comic book/monster fanboi for years so i wouldn't be surprised if he bought the Dracula art work, or bought the rights for a 1 off guitar, in any case he probably has a deal with ESP that he'll get the only one or two produced like his mummy that WE all seem to want

i should also buy the rights of my favorite movie pictures, so if I become rich and famous I can also build my own favorite custom esps :D

There's no "buying rights" going on at all. You can have any artist you want paint your guitar like your favorite movie poster, I'm sure. Now if there was mass production for consumer sale, then there would indeed be lots of red tape to make it happen.

im sure im reading this wrong, but why wont ESP reproduce a real mummy guitar for some random person on the street willing to pay the pricetag?

The artwork is copyrighted so ESP cannot legally reproduce it for sale. Slippery slope...

Yesterday I was @ Pinkpop. Kirk played on his dracula :hat. Can't remeber witch song but is was the Dracula guitar. Never seen him play on It @ a concert.

Last Metallica concert in Madrid 2008-05-31 Kirk used the new Dracula KH2 in 6-7 songs. Also Kirk used a new KH2!! It's pretty similar to the "Caution hot". It's totally black and with a orange sticker but this one is smaller than caution hot, and also this guitar haven't got the "kirk's guitar" sticker. It was used only in "Devil's dance"

Any thing! I was a little bit surprised, I mean, in a few days everybody knew that a Dracula KH2 existed, but no one has said anything about that guitar. It was totally black and with a small orange sticker, and I repeat, It's not the "caution hot" one. Of course, it seems a new guitar, it's not "relic" like caution hot.

Have you got any pics?

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the new Drac. I honestly don't know what other one you are referring to. I have seen no such guitar.

It's some new MII with another sticker/graphic in place of the caution hot, d-tuner installed on the floyd. Wasn't able to really see the inlays so I dunno if it's the same skull and bones or not.

i saw metallica here in tucson last month it was awesome and kirk played the dracula but the esp logo was blue and it was brand new still had the plastic and little quality sticker on the electronic cover on the back

some1 needs to start air brushing those. I would even consider buying a cheap kh-202 for it :)
