Some more cool one-guitar shots -
This one doesn't maybe look like much but in person oozed mojo both looks and playing - some 5 k for a guitar that had been heavily customer-relic'd -

There's this shop in the middle of the store - there are pictures of luthiers working in here, I presume after hours -

During the day, they work in the custom shop up this stairway - (those are kiddie guitars on the right there)

Of course. They send all of the crap Ltd. finished ones over here.:lol
That's why I'm really starting to favor Gibsons and PRS's way more than ESP's these days. Other than my JH-3 and Kelly Hayes, all of the other ESP guitars I have owned and played seem fairly mediocre sounding compared to the Gibsons and PRS's I have owned and played.
It's almost like ESP picks out the worst wood they have to make their guitars for outside of Japan and saves the absolute best for Japan.
Cool pictures though. It's been a while since I have seen those.

EMG32 - Respectfully, I do not believe this to be the case. I have 13 guitars, 5 of which are ESPs, and 2 of those are Navigators. I bought 3 of the 5 ESPs in Japan, and 2 here in the States. I have heard some of the best tone from my US-purchased ESPs, and I have also purchased an ESP in Japan that was a lemon (that I no longer have). I have found Gibsons pretty inconsistent, less consistent than Fenders, for instance. My personal feeling is that ESPs are very consistent. In fact, I would say that with ESP, it is generally true that the higher the price the better the guitar (though at the upper reaches the price leaps for an increment of quality seem to get crazy) whereas it feels that I am as likely to find an 800 dollar SG Classic that sounds great as I am a 2600 CS SG... I don't have much experience with PRS guitars. But, to each his own.

Nice pics! Thanks for posting them. Some of those guitars are beautiful. But lets be honest, a lot of them are really ugly. To me, thats the astonishing thing about ESP, they build beautiful sounding and playing guitars, but also some of the tackiest ones on the market. I wonder if people actually buy those flamboyant, fantasy models? Weird.

Yeah, I'll have to search thru a couple of Gibsons to actually find one that plays well... :lol
Gibson outside of the US=fail...

I guess it just comes down to personal preference again. I am the exact opposite of you. Almost every Gibson I have owned or played has been fabulous tonewise. The higher the model the better they get.
ESP has been a completely different story for me personally. Some have been good, a few great and a bunch that just didn't sound good no matter what I tried. Custom Shop or Standard hasn't seemed to matter either. I've had Standards that sounded and played better than CS and visa versa. ESP's have been really inconsistent for me personally.
I still love the few great ones I've kept, out of the many I've owned, but I don't know if I will buy many more ESP's in the future.

Its true that of the 5 or 6 ESP customs I've played, only one was on a par with my MII Urban Camo. That was a violet coloured Horizon custom in '92. And my god that was a glorious sounding axe.
