you guys may already be aware but musiciansfriend.com is selling the Eclipse II w/ either duncans or EMG's for $1000.

Yeah, a bunch of guys on the boards ordered that guitar when MF was also offering $150 off. More than one of the board memebers got bum guitars. I think 3 or 4 people sent them back immediately beause of QC issues.

I purchased one during that sale w/ Duncans and love the guitar. I believe most issues were bad setups on the guitar.

I don't see this as a major problem as you can either set the guitar up yourself or have it done relatively cheaply locally.

For the price you can't go wrong.

I ordered one with S.D. and it was in perfect condition it just needed a setup plus they took $100.00 off the sale price. I think the reason they were selling them for this price was to reduce inventory mine was made in 2006 so maybe they were making room for newer models.

i hope there are no QC issues cause i just bought one w/ duncans. u guys scared me, got me thinking musiciansfriend is discounting a batch of bum guitars. if all it needs is a set up that isn't a problem, most guitars do any way. my EC400VF needed a set up out of the box, figured this wouldn't be any differant. by the way, the 400vf plays outstanding after the setup. it's like night and day compared to how it played out of the box.

Here in Switzerland we don't have such actions.. If I want to have an Eclipse II I have to pay 2300 bucks.

Are these also made in japan? I have a couple coming in both emg's and duncans. If a foreign buyer would want one, I could ship instead of sending back. I will decide which pickups I like better, the other would be up for sale.

Yes. mine was made in 06. i sent mine back becaue the neck was twisted so make sure u inspect the guitar. i have another one on the way.
