Yeah, I noticed the big price increase this year too - ridiculous! $600 MAP increase! Used is the way to go. I just watched an M1 Tiger with a BIN of $1200 only go up to $955 (which didn't hit the reserve). And there is a purple tiger that had a similiar BIN which didn't sell, and it's now listed at $1150 BIN. I'm GASing for a Lynch model, but no way I'm going new!

The main reason is the weakness of the US dollar on the import market. I buy commodities and pharmaceuticals for a living. You wouldn't believe how expensive things are getting. Then, after you've covered the exchange rate, figure it considering these are coming from the Far East, and fuel cost have more than doubled.

We haven't seen the worst of it yet.

I remember a time when they didn't cost so much, and it wasn't that long ago. I suppose they saw how they could rape all the sheep buying the Gaytallica models, and figured they had a good scam going... Anywhoo....

Don't fool yourself though -- the US dollar is on part responsible for prices getting jacked. I'm a skier as well - the store I buy from told me to buy this year's gear if I wanted to save some $$$. Next year the price on the same ski will be up AT LEAST 15% because of weaknesds of the dollar. All the sudden an $1100 set of skis will cost $1265 - at least!! :eek:

I would guess its bc the paint jobs are very unique and complicated. Lynch could be getting a little extra too. His sig guitars are VERY well-known and unique. He's the one who really got ESP going.
In mid-80s, EVERYONE knew ESP bc of Lynch. Hammett may have also been playing ESPs, but it was Lynch's guitars that really put ESP out there. Dokken was on MTV all the time, Metallica was not a mainstream band until The Black Album.

Yea I think the FE is all around a better guitar. Washburn puts out some killer shit. They're just so underrated!
