yess guys whats up?

im looking at a few moded pedals by robert kealey and analog man mainly a boss sd1 super overdrive pedal .im thinking would it be worth buying the moded one or just go with a cheaper stock one? as im only going to be using it as a boost pedal with the distortion on my amp.will not need any drive from the boss sd1 just the level used as a booster as ive said with my tube amps gain.anyone have any experience with moded pedals essp the kealey and analogman ones are they worth the extra ie smoother tone and less noise ?

I Cannot Make An Educated Reply On The Keeley Or Analog Man Modded Pedals, But If You Have any Soldering Skillz Check Out www.monteallums.com Then Go To Pedal Mods And You Can Buy Kits And Mod Them Yourself. I Have Done Three, 2 Metal Zones, And a DS-1. Absolutely Love Em. Tri-Gain Mod On 1 Metalzone, Sustania Mod On The Other. The DS-1 I Did The Rectifier Mod. That One I Did First, and It Blew Me Away. Check It!!

I haven't played the Kealey, but I have the Analogman modded Maxon OD9 (TS-808 spec w/silver mod) and it sounds awesome. I've played my share of TS9s and never wanted one, but the mods that Mike does really bring the pedal to life.

So, "yes", I think it's worth it.

I use a stock Boss SD-1 in front of my amp, and I think it sounds fine. I actually bought a mod kit, but was too lazy to install it. What a waste...
