yeah, i know what kind of green you're talking about.

and actually i like the US SV shape as well. i know i'll never have enough cash to get a custom ESP, so i ended up getting the alexi 200. might end up putting black bevels on it and swapping out the LH-300.

That's why they are on the wall, he can't get to them when they are up there, hahaha. He's really good though, so i wouldn't even worry about them if i had them on stands. He knows not to play with them. I am planning on getting him one of those KH Jr's when they come out, he'll love that.

You are correct...those are custom ordered DiMarzio D-Activators with gold polepieces...

I use different ones for different guitars. But I tend to use whatever works for each one depending on the tones...

For the ones pictured, the Ron Wood Tele has a custom shop Duncan Screamin' Demon for Tele in the bridge. The MII Camo has a Distortion and a 59. The Egyptian V has a Stag Mag and a Distortion. The Viper has a Jazz and a Screamin Demon. The red Eclipse also has a Distortion, and a non-logo Jazz in the neck.

All of the guitars are wired with 1 meg pots and push-pull tones to split coils. The Ron Wood tele has a phase switch as well...

I dont limit myself on pickups...I will use just about anything...just depends on the guitar and the tones I want from it.

I guess each to his own, but I just like the natural look of the wood on the headstock personally, which is why I ordered it like that. I don't know...I just really went through what I would want in my ideal guitar and made it happen. I never even made a mock up of it or anything prior to seeing it...so I honestly didn't have any tangible evidence of what it would look like until I opened the case. Needless to say I think it's perfect but I don't trust the local venues around here enough security wise to play it at a show which is why it's strictly an at home guitar for the time being.

i head about the same as well b/c he builds his guitars fully hand made...all sanding is done by hand no machine so its truly a 100% handmade guitar.. but none of this confirmed so if anyone actually has a KL explorer and can confirm or deny this im all ears

Its not "No" machines....but, its means he used no CNC Machines, so all the work has been fed through machines by hand... like a belt sander, dremel, router ,and an electric saw and such.

the fretboard looks so healthy and nice on that guitar.. I always thought that.. You see this dried out rosewood on guitars too often.. that one is not one of the lot.. cause that's Brazilian rosewood isn't it?

It is the best guitar I've ever owned. Great tone and sustain. The inlays have hardly any filler at all around the star edges. I had them make the moons slightly thicker than the ones on the KH-2 ouija. It has the best cut of rosewood I've ever seen on a guitar. I had them put an emg 60 in the neck position and it works great for a blues feel.
I can't wait to save up enough $$$ to go back to the custom shop for another guitar.

They are all custom shop guitars. The last one is a Mirage which is also the name for the M II and I.

1999-2000 USA custom (one of the last), thing took a year but GOD was the wait worth it. All mahogany, set neck, 81 in the bridge (it was a JB, but I swapped it) EMG PA-2 preamp (part of original installation) and sperzel tuners. Thing is always on the top of the pile for my main guitar, it's a shame the Chimaira dude has a sig this year pretty similar lol.

Thanks, and that's why ESP Custom guitars are great - if YOU want a viper with 2 pickups YOU can get that, and if I want a viper with one pickup I can get it. Although I own other guitars, I can always pick up my custom and say "This is MY guitar!" it's awesome. I've gotta get a little extra dough so I can get another one, but customs are so much more than they were in 1999.

The mahogany neck looks amazing

by the way i absolutely love the yellow color, if I were to ever order a custom it would be bright yellow like that, with a black binding all around and black hardware for a lot of contrast. I'm also a fan of having more knobs personally, I would want 2 volumes, a tone and a 3-way toggle.

It's just been a struggle to get it to work tonally for me. No matter what pickups, no matter the strings, and so far, no matter the tuning, the guitar is just thuddy and not very resonant. Unplugged, you can just hear it's kinda got no life to it. I still have a few pickup options I am investigating, but even if I got it working tonally, mechanically it has other issues. Much of it should be a warranty issue, such as the cracking fingerboard and the neck that refuses to relieve enough even with the truss rod fully loose, but I've moved way past that guitar and it's pretty much retired...I just don't care anymore to dick with it when others are ready to work 'right now'...lol

I have two and played several. ESP Customs are masterpieces but so are Jackson Customs.

They play great and they sound great.
